Involving patients and members of the public in research can be rewarding not only for the individuals, but also for the research and the researcher.  CLAHRC SY encourages all our research projects to include consideration of PPI.  PPI can be included in a research project at many levels, whether through PPI input into research proposals, through to full involvement of lay people in designing new services, or as service user researchers.  This film includes the views of PPI participants and researchers on how they have all benefitted from being included in the research process.

Many of the interviews shown were filmed at the ‘Nothing about us without us’ PPI workshop held in Sheffield on 2nd March 2011.
