Vascular disease may cause heart attacks and stroke. These are more common in older people but they can happen in younger people too. Smoking, lack of exercise, a poor diet and stress are some of the factors that contribute to the development of vascular disease.
This booklet includes examples of evidence-based physical activity projects and programmes displayed at the 11th BHFNC annual conference, Translating the evidence: What works for physical activity?
The case studies summarised in this booklet are examples of practice which are either:
Interpreting and using research and public health guidance to develop and deliver evidence-based physical activity programmes and/or contributing to the evidence base for physical activity.
